From finding bugs to building confidence
I started in software testing in 2006. Finding bugs was the job, but the question that kept me interested was a bigger one: how does a team know its software works, at the speed it now ships?
Since 2012 I’ve been at 3Pillar Global, where I’ve grown through five roles. Today, as Technical Manager for Product Development, I lead a 15-person quality engineering team. My work covers quality strategy, automation architecture and delivery — making testing something that speeds a team up rather than holding it back.
The tools have changed a lot along the way. I moved from Selenium and Java to Cypress, and then to Playwright with TypeScript, with Karate DSL and REST Assured for APIs. These days much of my attention goes to AI in testing: agents that plan, write and repair tests, and the Model Context Protocol that connects them to real tools.
Outside the day job I write and teach. I’ve published two books on Playwright, more than 120 articles on Medium, DZone and this site, and I’ve spoken at over 25 conferences in 8 countries. QA Automation Labs is where it all comes together: free tutorials, practice apps and interview preparation for anyone learning automation.
